Becoming a DRIVE School

 On-Site Training and Coaching

  • The Drive system begins with a school culture survey.

  • Using a school culture survey, Drive coaches in partnership with school leadership, analyze school and district data (test scores, grades, attendance, suspensions, office referrals) to understand the current school culture and identify what is needed
to create a Culture of Success.

  • After the analysis and assessment, school leadership identifies areas of focus for improvement and growth. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to:
        • academic achievement (assuring success for all teachers, standardized testing, graduation rates, meaningful differentiated instruction
        • behavior including bullying, suspensions, disproportionate discipline referrals, dropouts  –  “School to Prison Pipeline”
        • relationships – administrator, faculty, student
        • parent-community involvement

  • The identified areas of focus will be addressed through training and a coaching model will be customized for each school or school district's needs. The training and coaching model will include formats such as whole-staff professional development,
small-group coaching, school walk-through assessments, data analysis, administrator mentorships, model teaching,
    student interventions, online resources, and
    community and parent events.
